Dohazari is a Municipalityin Chandnaish upazila of Chittagong district in Bangladesh. Dohazari Municipality was establishedon May 11, 2017.Dohazari is a ‘C’ class municipality. The area of this municipality is 36.02 sq km. According to the census-2011 its population is 47684 . It is located on both sides of the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar (Arkan) road and on the north bank of the Sangu river. Sangu is a beautiful and important river in Bangladesh. In the rainy season it is very fast flowing. Sangu begins in the Arakan Mountains and ends in the Bay of Bengal. It originated in Bangladesh and ended in Bangladesh. It has two sides of fertile agricultural land where a variety of vegetables are grown. The vegetables produced by the farmers are brought to Dohazari railway ground through Sangu river for sale where wholesale buyers come from Chittagong city. Every day a fair of vegetable variety is held at the railway ground in the morning. Vegetable varieties include cauliflower, cabbage, radish, potato, eggplant, barbati, patal, bean, cucumber, gourd, squid, dheras, sweet pumpkin, tomato, kachu, karla , cucumber, guava and various vegetables. Besides, raw chillies, coriander leaves, mint etc. are available here. A lot of guavas are produced in Dohazari. Dohazari i.e. Chandnaish is famous for guava. Dohazari has a variety of seasonal fruits. Such as: mango, blackberry, litchi, jackfruit, watermelon, grapefruit, lemon etc. Dohazari Railway Station is the southernmost station of Bangladesh Railway. In 1971, when the radio equipment of Swadhin Banglabetar Kendra was taken near the Indian border, it was left on the Dohazari railway ground for more than two days. Two Bengali films, Akheri Station and Poraman, were shot here. To the west of Dohazari Railway Station are Hazari Bazar, Baratkhana and Chagachar. To the north-west and north are Dewan Hat and Eid Pukuria. To the north and northeast there is a large area called Jamirjuri. To the east are Dohazari, East Dohazari, Lalutia. To the east and east-south is Diakul. Chowkidar Fari are located at Diakul, Raijoara, Killapara, Dohazari (Sadar), Chagachar on the banks of Sangu river. The eastern border of Dohazari is a potential natural destination for tourism. There are hundreds of years old structures like the mosque of Galim. There were two traditional zamindar families in Dohazari, one of which was the Khan family. The Khan family had two thousand soldiers or employees. It is said that Dohazari was named after these two thousand. Another zamindar family is the Hazari family; This is the naming of Hazari to Hazari Bazaar. Dohazari was a British military base during World War II. At that time Killapara was a fort and Barat Khana had a warehouse of gunpowder. That is why it is heard that these areas have been so named. In Dohazari, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist communities have been living in communal harmony for ages. Dohazari hills, hilly high and low roads, rivers, canals, chars, crop lands, paddy lands, villages, dighis, etc. are rich in natural beauty. Dohazari is the meeting place of roads, waterways and railways.
